PRESS RELEASE

Dear Sir,

The above mentioned Association is a newly formed Association to draw the attention of all political parties in the country to the precarious unemployment situation facing most graduates. Now that the manifestos of the two leading political parties are out, we want them to know that there is a sizable number of university graduates who are without jobs. The reason for forming this Association is that some party communicators are of the view that there is no more unemployed graduates in the country.

However, within a month following the formation of this Association, over ten (10) thousand unemployed graduates have already subscribed as Members across the country.

The most dangerous aspect of this development is that, some professionals from the various Teacher Training and Nursing Training Institutions, have joined the Association, hence the name Unemployed Graduates and Professionals Association.

Currently, over sixty (60) thousand graduates who have finished their National Service are most likely to join their brothers and sisters to chase the few available jobs.

We want to take this opportunity to appeal to all political parties to remember that there are still unemployed graduates and professionals in the country, therefore, there is the urgent need to try as much as possible to initiate policies towards job creation.

Thank you for your presence.

Yours Sincerely

Abdullah Ishaq
