The Transport Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated in a press statement that Ghanaians should boycott the ruling government NPP’s deceptive politics.

According to them, “It has come to the attention of the executives and entire membership of Transport Congress of an usual deceptive political promise by vice President, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia and NPP’s national Organoser, Sammi Awuku, of making the lives of Okada riders  by providing saloon cars to “Okada riders” in exchange of their motorbikes”.

TRANSPORT CONGRESS

PRESS RELEASE

IGNORE NPP’S DECEPTIVE POLITICS

It has come to the attention of the executives and entire membership of Transport Congress of an usual deceptive political promise by the NPP championed by vice President, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia and NPP’s national Organoser, Sammi Awuku, of making the lives of Okada riders  by providing saloon cars to “Okada riders” in exchange of their motorbikes.

We wish to reiterate that such promises by the VEEP and the NPP are not surprising as that has remain their single political modus operandi by deceiving unsuspecting voters with an usual “promise-as-you-go”, without careful consideration and evaluation of such promises.

This promise of making the lives of Okada Riders better by the VEEP and his political hatchet man, Sammi Awuku, is a politically sugar-coated words to swindle the ever growing large membership of the “okada” business to vote for this government which has borrowed Gh¢ 154 billion without any tangible and conspicuous developmental project to show for.

We wish to reproduce below few of the “promise-as-you-go” promises by the VEEP which has not seen the light of the day as an indication that any promise by Dr. Bawumiah and his deceptive political partners must be taken with a pinch of salt.

Some of the unfulfilled promises are;

1) He promised that “No village in Ghana will have a challenge with toilet and water provision within 2 years of an NPP Government”

2) He promised that “Every Ghanaian” will have a bank account by end of 2018.

3) He indicated that he has arrested the Cedi and the keys given to the IGP but what is Cedi to dollar rate today?

4) He promised an allocation of US$1 million annually per constituency.

5) He promised Water For All Programme by 2019

6) Dr. Bawumia promised to construct 570 dams in 2017 adds to his tall list of empty rhetorics

7) He promised that the “few family and friends” government would build hospitals in districts without hospitals.

8) He deceived Ghanaians that the over bloated government is the process of procuring 8,000 CCTV cameras to be deployed nationwide as part of measures to fight crime in the country.

9) He deceived Ghanaians that the government would be extending the railway line all the way to Paga

10) He deceived Ghanaians that every police station will have a CCTV camera.

These are just but a few of the Dr. Bawumia’s perfect political tricks to sway voters and the entire membership of the Okada fraternity trust him at their peril.

On the other hand, we wish to caution all Okada riders to trek cautiously in plying their trade since there is a deliberate attempt by those opposed to the legalization and regulating of Okada to cause accidents as a way to lampoon the wise idea of legalizing Okada business.
