Head Coach of South Africa, Hugo Broos has hit out at World’s football governing body FIFA for approving the Cape Coast Stadium as home venue for Ghana in 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.
According to the Belgian trainer, the over three hours of travel by road from Ghana’s capital Accra has affected his side’s preparation ahead of their crucial qualifier agaisnt the Wes Africans.
Ghana hosts South Africa today, November 14, 2021, in a game that will decide which side will make the final playoff round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Broos minced no words in expressing his frustrations ahead of the game.
“It was a long day today. We trained in the evening, but we needed it because the travel yesterday was exhausting for us,” Broos said at the pre-match conference on Saturday evening.
“It’s a pity that Fifa allowed such things when you have to play qualifiers for a World Cup.
