An eye witnesses has recounted his experience regarding the explosion in Apenti, a community near Bogoso in the Western Region.
In his narration, he said human bodies were mutilated, buildings and other structures were completely destroyed following the explosion.
“It is as if we are in a war torn country,” he said.
Rescue efforts had been intensified following the incident.
A motorised tricycle, popularly known as Aboboyaa, is said to have collided with a fuel tanker, causing the disaster.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has issued an “emergency public notice” announcing the incident as “a huge explosion”.
