The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Akwasi Asante, has called for the deployment of military and Police personnel to enforce the wearing of nose masks in public places in accordance with the law.
The masks, he said, is part of the protocols outlined to help prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Speaking to My Ghana Media, Mr Asante, expressed worry at the unwillingness of Ghanaians to wear nose masks to fight the virus.
According to him, the recalcitrant nature of the people, calls for security operations to enforce the wearing of masks.
Mr Asante said, the upsurge in the infection rate, should call for drastic measures to enforce the protocols.
According to him, the security personnel should discipline recalcitrant people when found in public places without nose masks.
He noted that security personnel should also check school buses to ensure compliance of social distance.
Mr Asante therefore urged government to ban public gatherings to help prevent the spread of the deadly disease.
