Baba Nuhu’s ladies cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win thanks to goals from Georgina Ayisha Aoyem, Princess Owusu and Karima Abdulai to secure a third-round slot in the U-17 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Maidens won both legs in a 4-0 aggregate scoreline.

The Maidens had a good start to the game but failed to find the incisive pass to carve open the Senegalese backline to break the deadlock. The Maidens grew weary as the first half ended.

Georgina Ayisha Aoyem, the captain, broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half with a solo run before slotting the ball beyond the reach of the Senegalese goalkeeper.

Princess Owusu doubled Ghana’s lead with a perfect header on the 58th minute to solidify their advantage in the tie.

Princess Owusu went from heroine to villain when she was sent off for a distasteful act, shoving Ndeye Tida and kicking her on the turf.

The red card did not hurt the Maidens as Karima Adbulai grabbed Ghana’s third to take Ghana into the next round of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The Black Maidens will face the winner of the game between Liberia and Guinea.
