Tema: Fire Guts Timber Market; Several Shops Destroyed [viedo]

Fire has gutted the Timber market in Tema destroying several shops and properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis in the process.

 

The fire which started around 12 pm on Wednesday quickly spread to different parts of the market according to eyewitnesses.

 

Videos obtained by Starrfm showed helpless personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service who were providing water from their tankers to citizens to help quench the fire.

 

It is not yet known what started the fire but eyewitnesses report the situation had gotten out of hand due to some chemicals in the market.
