The Member of Parliament for the Wa West Constituency, and a Retired Superintendent of Police in Ghana, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu has cautioned Police Personals to be careful when it comes to the handling of Guns.
According to the former executive secretary to the IGP, Police Personals are mandated to return their guns to their various Charge Office after performing their duties and for that matter, its wrong if Police Personnel’s walk around with Gun.
He advised the general public that, security is a collective responsibility and for that matter, Ghanaians should be much concern about the way security issues are handled in the country and also talk about it for their own safety.
His statement came after, the police administration interdicted a police officer for negligently left his rifle in a commercial vehicle after allegedly collecting a GH¢100 bribe from the driver.

He thanked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for interdicting the Policeman for putting up such behavior.
He asked the IGP to conduct a medical test on the Police man to see if he is has any mental problem because he wonder how a Policeman can walk comfortably leaving his Gun in a Trotro Vehicle.
