Information reaching MyGhanaMedia.com indicates that parts of the new Kejetia market in Kumasi in the Ashanti region have been ramped in a fire outbreak.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
Fire service battling with a razing fire that started the second floor of the market.
The fire continues to destroy thousands of property as officials of Ghana Fire Service battle their way to control the alarming situation.
A video shared on social media showed some sections of the market being consumed by fire while some market women stand helplessly.
Traders affected by the incident are wailing while they try to salvage as many items as they can.
Fire tenders have also been cited on the scene.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
