Akyem Oda: Political Parties To Embark On Clean-up Exercise On Saturday

Supporters of various political parties in the Akyem Oda constituency of the Eastern region have officially announced to  embark on a massive clean-up exercise tomorrow, Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 within the Akyem Oda Township.

 

The exercise  dubbed, “Let’s Clean Oda; Rep Your Party cleanup exercise” is aim at making the Constituency clean as it is Stated, Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

 

 

 

It is also to create awareness and sensitise people about the importance of living in a clean environment.

 

Speaking to Mr. Dennis Obeng Agyei, popularly  known as Densa, a lead convener  and an Assembly member for Oda Nkwanta Electoral Area, indicated that they have observed that with the increase in population, plastic and other waste materials are being disposed of recklessly and indiscriminately and if nothing is done about it, there would be negative health implications on residents.

 

 

He noted that the exercise will enable political parties to register their displeasure against the indiscriminate disposal of plastic waste which is a menace to all and sundry in the Constituency.

The clean-up exercises will include clearing and sweeping of open drains, removing used plastic bags and containers as well as desilting choked gutters.

 

He urged all political party members and residents to participate fully in the exercise to ensure a clean city.

 

The exercise is expected to commence at  the  Oda Total Filling Station and its surroundings to rid the town of filth.
