The Black Stars of Ghana will play Sao Tome and Principe in the last round game of the 2021 AFCON Qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday behind closed doors.
Ghana booked a place to the finals of the tournament scheduled for next year in Cameroon after picking a draw away against South Africa.
Sao Tome and Principe have been the whipping boys of the group – they have lost all five games and conceded 13 goals, scoring only two.
CK Akonnor’s men haven’t conceded a goal at home in the qualifiers and will be hoping to maintain the enviable feat against South Tome and Principe who haven’t scored a goal in two of their away games.
The Black Stars have been boosted with the addition of Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew and captain Andre Ayew after the trio did not travel to South Africa due to Covid-19 restrictions.
A win for Ghana will mean they will top group C with 13 points and anything aside a defeat for Sao Tome and Principe will be their only point(s) in the qualifiers.
