Hardship In Society Poses Serious Security Threat In The Country – ADAM-GH To Gove’t

Executive Secretary of Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana (ADAM-GH) Mr. Azubila Salam Emmanuel said hardship in the country currently is unbearable and people including children will do anything humanly possible to survive and that poses a big threat to our country security. This increases the level of crime rate and definitely will over stretch the activities of the police and other security apparatus.

Undoubtedly, children and for that matter society learn from the actions of their leaders and political Leadership in government cannot be an exception. Children in this country are witness to people associated to this government murdering people with impunity just to maintain political power. So what our children are learning is that, killing to maintain political power and killing to become a billionaire is not different. These are the negative precedence we are been talking about.

The killing of the 10 years old boy in Kasoa by juveniles for ritual purpose and the killing of an Ambulances driver in the Eastern Region by children ranging between 18 to 24 years through robbery attack, is a reflection of how killing of human beings is becoming a norm in the country under the supervision of this government. What punishment is given to people who kill innocent Ghanaians in the country?. The just ended December 2020 elections saws children at the ages of 14, 15, 18 respectively and five adults were shot and killed by state sponsored terrorists in security uniform.

As we speak, the President of the Republic Nana Addo have not condemned that dangerous act or punish those criminals whose actions led to the death of these innocent souls when indeed he had a birlliant opportunity to comment on the incidence in his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) for 2020 and the maiden SONA for his new term.

An exclusion that left many Ghanaians got thinking about the President’s commitment towards fighting crime and putting in measures to reduce crime rate to the barest minimum. One might not therefore be far from right to say he is quiet over it because their death went to his favour for his re-election. I don’t think the president should have been be happy that 8 people died before he secured his second term to serve Ghanaians.

It goes to create the impression that the president’s only top priority that time was to be re-elected for his second term and that took away the lives of 8 people including 14, 15 years old girls and 18 years old boy respectively.

Hon. Hawa Kumson shot at people violently, burning motor bikes and inflicted severe wounds on people including journalists. Civil society organizations (CSOs) and Christian council advised the president to dismissed

Hon.Hawa Kumson to serve as a deterrent to others but unfortunately, she was rather elevated by the president to a higher ministry. Interior minister Ambrose Dery and Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul under whose watch these eight people were killed were renominated by the president to continue their “Good works” as a pat on the back.

No wonder since then, Kasoa has always been in the news for shooting and killing to the extent that children in Hon. Hawa Kumson’s Constituency are taking inspiration from her negative actions as a Gangstar to also secure their wealth through killing of human being.

ADAM-GH is hereby asking Ghanaians to blame government for the death of the innocent boy due to the government’s negative precedence set with regards to killing of fellow human beings in this country with impunity.

Killers of the boy took inspirations from their leaders with a thought that ” If killing to secure political power is not a crime, then how can killing to become a billionaire be a crime”? Some of the negative precedence set by officials of this government was not given any severe punishment and this include: Two police officers who were shot and killed in the Kasoa areas by alleged National Security personnel and no punishment has been made known to Ghanaians till now. Robbery at East Legon National Security ID cards were found on them and that case has been muted till now.

The gentleman who shot and killed Ibrahim Abass at Ayawaso North in the 2020 General elections is also alleged National Security officer at the Presidency.

Officials in government kill human beings with impunity to secure something they need. Until government subject murderers in his government to severe punishment, people influenced by killing human beings to get what they want cannot stop. Government should also expedite action in reducing the economic hardship in the country.

Signed.

AZUBILA SALAM EMMANUEL. Executive Secretary Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana (ADAM-GH).
