President Akufo-Addo says the approval of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s running mate was not opposed in any way at the New Patriotic Party’s National Council.
The President credited Napo for implementing the government’s flagship Free SHS policy, which he says is a testament to his hard work which he believes will be translated into leadership of the country.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the ability of the Bawumia-Opoku Prempeh ticket to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.
Speaking at the unveiling of the NPP flagbearer and running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday, July 9, Akufo-Addo emphasized his trust in their abilities, having worked closely with both men.
The event attracted almost all the prominent figures within the party, including President Akufo-Addo, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, and other key members.
“I have trust and confidence in the two of them to do the work. I have worked with the two and I know that they can do it. I know that on the 7th of December when Ghanaians have given them the mandate, they will work to meet the expectations of Ghana,” he said.
