8 Persons Arrested For Removing NPP Billboards In Agona East

The Agona Swedru Police Command in the Central Region has detained eight individuals for reportedly tearing down the giant billboard featuring Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, and Hannah Asamoah, the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Agona East Constituency.

According to sources, the removal of the billboard was carried out under the supervision of local chiefs and elders from the community.

This, according to the report has created tension in the town.

In the video that was shared, three men were seen digging up a huge billboard of Madam Asamoah and Dr. Bawumia with a pickaxe while some onlookers were standing by.

The video circulating on social media captured moments of the removal, where a male voice could be heard commenting on the location of the billboard.

 

 

“There is a big compound here but they decided to fix it here. So they are removing it,” the voice stated in the video.
