Import Duties Alone Can Make NPP Lose – Joseph Archibald

Spread the love

Mr. Joseph Archibald, a notable politician and entrepreneur, has recently called on the government to reduce port taxes, a move he believes is crucial for stimulating the growth of small businesses and strengthening the local economy. Archibald emphasized that lowering port taxes would enable more businesses to thrive by easing the financial burden on entrepreneurs, making it simpler for them to import necessary goods and resources. He argued that high import duties could significantly impact the NPP’s chances in the upcoming elections, as they burden local businesses and consumers.

He argued that encouraging the use of local currency in business transactions would significantly bolster the cedi, Ghana’s national currency. By creating an environment where more people can engage in business activities using the local currency, Archibald believes the economy would become more stable and resilient.

Furthermore, Archibald highlighted the importance of job creation as a means to support economic growth. He urged the government to focus on creating more job opportunities instead of spending excessively on vote-buying during elections. According to him, investing in job creation would not only improve the livelihoods of many Ghanaians but also foster a more robust and self-sustaining economy.

In summary, Joseph Archibald’s recommendations underscore the need for strategic economic policies that prioritize the growth of small businesses, the stabilization of the local currency, and the creation of jobs. By reducing port taxes and curbing unnecessary election spending, he believes the government can pave the way for a more prosperous and equitable future for all Ghanaians.
