There is tension and uneasy calm at Oda Senior High School (ODASCO) in the Birim Central Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region following an alleged teacher-student romantic partnership.

According to a report by Akyem-Aboabo-based Ahenkan FM, a final-year home economics student whose name has been withheld obtained permission from her house teacher to go home for medical treatment.

However, it was later found that the student opted to go out with her boyfriend rather than visit a hospital for a check-up.

She took the exact trip home for two days, and when she got back to the school campus, she was questioned by the senior housemistress, Emelia Biamah, who has a familial relationship with her, about where she had been. The student said she went out with a Visual Arts male teacher.

In order to ascertain the reason for the female student’s visit to the male teacher’s residence, Emellia Biamah, also known as Shgee, the senior house mistress, launched an investigation.

It was discovered that the female student and the Visual Arts male teacher, are dating following an inquiry conducted by the Senior House Mistress.

It was also reported that after the student took an exact to go for a medical checkup, a Visual Arts teacher took her to a guest house and engaged in sexual activity with her.

Additionally, the report states that the student and teacher had been dating for approximately a year.

Meanwhile, the teacher in question has refuted every accusation made against him.

Surprisingly, to pursue more action against the teacher and the student, the Senior House Mistress, Emellia Biamah, also known as Shgee, informed the school’s Headmaster and, without any form of consultation, called for the arrest of the young male teacher who had denied knowledge of what the student was claiming.

Moreover, the student then stated that she had lied about being a teacher’s companion when she took the exact.

The female student’s parents, however, denounced the suspected teacher to the Oda police command, insisting that the teacher is dating their daughter, which they believed to be illegal.

The police in Oda are said to have taken the case and investigated it to ensure that the truth is brought to light.

Through Police investigations, it was found out that the student lied about being taken out of campus by the said male teacher but rather, she used an apian way out of the school’s campus and lodged in 2 separate hotels.

In response to the case, some teachers at the school have voiced their opposition to the administration’s decision to dismiss Madam Emellia Biamah as senior house mistress.

They contend that the House Mistress has not properly handled the situation.

ODASCO Teacher’s Welfare Secretary Michael Baidoo announced that they can no longer work together with Senior House Mistress Emelia Biamah, aka Shegee.
