GFA President Kurt Okraku Should Resign – GHALCA Chairman

Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has called for the resignation of the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, following the Black Stars’ disappointing 2-0 defeat to Sudan.

After a disappointing start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the Black Stars were hoping to secure their first win after losing to Angola and drawing with Niger.

However, after a goalless first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, Otto Addo’s men suffered a 2-0 defeat against the Falcons on Tuesday.

The loss has threatened Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the next AFCON tournament which will be hosted in Morocco next year.

Speaking to Akoma FM, Fianoo expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of Ghanaian football, particularly the performance of the Black Stars under Okraku’s leadership.

He is adamant that the GFA President should step down, stating, “Kurt Okraku should resign, or better yet, fulfill his second term and then leave without seeking a third term.”

Following the results, Ghana sits third in Group F with two points from four games and is now on the verge of not qualifying for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years.

The Black Stars will be back in action in November in the final two games of the qualifiers against Niger and Angola and will need Sudan to lose the games and win their two games to qualify for the tournament that will be held in Morocco next year.
