Traditional leaders in Kwahu have taken a strong affirmation at the destoolment of former Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II, known in private life as Eugene Asante.

At a traditional crunch executive meeting held at the Abetifi Palace on Monday, October 21, the Traditional Council made up of the Benkum, Nifa , Adonten, Kyidom and Okwawu Gyaase divisions agreed to the destoolment of Eugene Asante, formerly Okwahuene.

The leaders also approved Abetifihene Nana Akyeamfour Asiedu Agyeman III as the acting Kwahuhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area.

‘My people, as it stands, I’m now the current acting Omanhene of Kwahu Traditional Area”, Akyeamfour declared.

The meeting, according information gathered by myrepubliconline.com’s *Andy Frimpong Manso* indicated that the authorities will present a special report to the committee in a week time.

As it stands, Eugene Asante is no longer the Kwahuhene and he has been barred from calling or holding himself as the Omanhene of Kwahu Traditional Area.

Bepong Hene at the latter part of the meeting stated that, Eugene Asante had called on him with a dignified person to plead on his behalf.

However, Akyeamfour Asiedu Agyeman II ruled out the message from Bepong Hene as a plea bargain sent from Eugene Asante, and insisted that the decisions and traditional rituals performed by the King Makers of Abene continues and stays unabated.

Kwahu Hemaa Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III at her Abene palace, after the executive meeting told Republic FM that the decision by the King Makers stands, and that, henceforth, Eugene Asante is no longer the Omanhene of Kwahu.

Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III added that whoever engages Eugene Asante, former Omanhene and ex deputy Eastern Regional House of Chiefs president do so at their own risk.

“We were reliably informed yesterday that, he had sneaked into the palace from Accra which it shouldn’t have happened. It was rumoured all over Abene. But we managed to get into the palace and he was hiding in there. He was subsequently guarded to move out of the palace.

We’re stating emphatically that Eugene Asante, former Kwahuhene is no longer the occupant of the Kwahu stool, therefore whoever engages with him, do so at their own peril.

So we’re calling and urging our indigenous Kwahu people to stay down and remain calm, and we shall find someone who will befits the stool. We’ll find someone lead us in good faith and prosperity “, she stated.

Myrepubliconline.com’s findings suggest that the former Kwahuhene on Sunday dawn stormed the Abene palace with eight(8) national security operatives who were ordered to leave the palace by a higher authority.
