NPP’s Kate Gyamfoa Finances 60-bed Capacity Hospital At Akyem Takrowase

The people of Akyem Takrowase in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region have received a significant boost in healthcare delivery due to the completion and handing over of an ultra-modern Polyclinic facility.

 

 

 

 

The s ultramodern sixty-bed capacity fully furnished hospital facility constructed by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Women’s Organizer, Madam Kate Gyamfua, in collaboration with her own daughter’s foundation called “The Village Girl Foundation,”, offers a range of services, including general consultation, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) services, ultrasound, emergency services, radiology, and laboratory services.

The equipped facility, which has been upgraded from clinic to polyclinic, also features an operating theatre, maternity department, Male and Female ward, and additional administrative space.

 

 

 

 

Speaking at a brief ceremony to commission the facility on Thursday, March 23, 2025, Madam Kate Gyamfua expressed her delight in giving back to her community, where she and her daughter were born.

 

She accorded the Village Girl Foundation’s founder and her team high marks for their efforts on the project.

“To ensure that the Takrowase community has access to a cutting-edge medical center, we focused our energies on this project. I am pleased to inform the residents of our community today that we have a designated health facility that will attend to their medical needs,” She added

She additionally called on facility managers and users to make sure the project is used effectively and maintained status.

She also pledged to keep helping and supporting her community members to lessen the burden on them, particularly with regard to health and education.

Madam Gyamfua also urged NGOs, philanthropists, and individuals of goodwill to lead their support to the facility as she encouraged the health authorities to take good care of it.

The commissioning was attended by the Member of parliament for Akwatia Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Kumi, the immediate-past District Chief Executive for Denkyembour, Seth Ofosu Birikorang, District Health Director, Dr. Augustine Ankuve, Eastern Regional Director of Health, Dr Winifred Owusu and Nananom.

On his part, the Member of Parliament for the Akwatia constituency in the Eastern region, Hon. Ernest Yaw Kumi has acknowledged the good work of the NPP national women’s organizer, Madam Kate Gyamfoa, and urged other politicians to follow in her footsteps.

Additionally, he advised the good people of Akyem Takrowase to utilize the facility to its full potential.

The chief of Akyem Takrowase, Osaberima Owusu Nketiah urged other affluent members of the community to emulate Madame Kate Gyamfoa, expressing his sincere gratitude for her unwavering love for her homeland.

Therefore, he urged his people to put an end to shady politics and instead unite in a constructive endeavor to enhance the community positively.

Shocking incident

A shocking incident occurred on the eve of the commissioning of the ultra-modern Polyclinic facility at Takrowase. Unknown individuals, wearing masks, attempted to set the facility ablaze by spreading petrol around the building and throwing fire on it.

Fortunately, some community members quickly intervened, putting out the fire before it could cause significant damage. Investigations revealed that the incident was politically motivated, sparking concerns about the safety and security of the facility.

The Chief of Takrowase, Osabarima Owusu Nketiah, and his people strongly condemned the attempted arson attack on the ultra-modern Polyclinic facility. They expressed their outrage and disappointment at the incident, which they believe was a deliberate attempt to hinder the progress of the community.
