The 15th congregation of 2022 graduating students of Amedzorfe College of Education (AMECO) in 2023 has recorded a remarkable achievement where seven (7) students from the College of Education, (AMECO) in the Volta region of Ghana have graduated with first-class honours dabbed _”#the nonsense must stop”_ and the nonsense have stopped. the overall best graduating students Eric Atsu Kwaku Adzigli with a GPA 3.7 thanked the teaching staffs for their dedication in making them. This is a historic feat for the school was achieved with the commitment, sacrifice and hard work of staffs and students, despite faced with several challenges, including inadequate classrooms, dormitories, and poor road networks leading to the school.

Despite these challenges, the students persevered and excelled in their studies, proving that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the school’s principal Dr. Dickson Tsey commended the students for their outstanding performance and urged them to continue striving for excellence.

The adequate classrooms and dormitories has been a long-standing issue for the school, with students often forced to sharing an old living spaces for study. This has had a negative impact on the quality of education, with many students struggling to concentrate in such conditions.

Furthermore, the poor road network leading to the school has made it difficult for students and staff to access the facilities, particularly during the rainy season when the roads become impassable. This has also affected the school’s ability to attract and retain qualified staff, further exacerbating the problem.

Despite these challenges, the school has continued to produce graduates who go on to make a positive impact in their communities. The success of the seven students who graduated with first-class honours is a testament to the school’s commitment to providing quality education, even in the face of adversity.

The school presented a total of 174 students which made of 103 students who pursued Bachelor of Education in Primary Education and 71 students with Bachelor of Education in Junior high School Education.

Moving forward, it is hoped that the government and other stakeholders will take note of the challenges facing the school and take concrete steps to address them. This will not only benefit the students and staff but also the wider community, as the school plays an important role in providing education and training to young people in the region.
