The member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu constituency Hon John Jinapor has indicated that t no report has been on the floor or reffered to the finance committee concerning the Agyapa deal.
His comment comes on the back of the President’s directive to the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, to resubmit the contract to Parliament for review after a Corruption Risk Assessment report by Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu was presented to the Presidency.
He elaborated that the minority would issue it formal position on Agyapa deal. Moreover parliament is not the right forum to address the issue of corruption and conflict of interest and possible corruption he said. Hon. John Jinapor clarified that parliament can only validate and ratify agreement but nit to deal with issues of corruption.
According to him parliament has only four days to go on sine dine and the agreement has not yet be laid and for that matter they consider it dead.
He urge all civil society organizations as well as the media and all the stake holders to be involved in this issue and also proper valuation must be done in the company.
He emphatically stated that the minority will not be part of any dubious and flawed means and he knows the minority leader Hon Haruna Iddrisu will insist and ensure the right thing is done.
