Ahenkan FM Launches Maakye Foundation To Support The Underprivileged

Akyem Aboabo-based Ahenkan FM in the Eastern region has launched a philanthropic initiative to support the underprivileged within its catchment of operation and beyond.

The Maakye Foundation was launched with a fundraising ceremony on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Manager of Ahenkan FM, Benjamin Otuo Acheampong outlined the vision and mission statements of the foundation to solicit financial support for the underprivileged.

He added that; “the only way in which the foundation can run effectively is to spawn resources through fundraising initiatives and community partnerships. Therefore, I call on philanthropists and alike to commit to the vision”.

 

Chairperson for the event Eva Obesse Acquaah commended the morning show team for conceiving the idea and the subsequent launching.

She charged them to be forthright with the tenets of the foundation.

“We must keep to the commitments of establishing this foundation. Ensure that every deserving individual is supported,” she said.

Host of Maakye Breakfast Show on Ahenkan FM, Obuoba Ofori Amanfo under whose leadership the foundation is birthed, urged donors to keep an eye on the activities of the foundation.

He believes a stringent eye on their activities would ensure efficient use of solicited funds.

“We will continue to review and introduce new elements to ensure relevance and bring excitement to the foundation,” he added while courting support to help build a collective legacy.
He continued that; ” they are committed to keeping the foundation processes simple, transparent, and fair”.

Present at the ceremony were Presiding Member Birim Central Municipal Assembly – Clement Attafuah, Assembly Member Oda Nkwanta Electoral Area – Dennis Obeng Agyei, Assembly Member Akyem Aboabo Electoral Area – Appiah Kubi amongst other notable personalities.
