American Based Ghanaian Enstooled As Apagyahemaa Of Akuapem Larteh Kubea

Mrs. Matilda Ansah, a United States of America (USA) based Ghanaian who doubles as a Specialist at the Greystone Psychiatric Hospital, was on Saturday enstooled as the first in the history of Akuapem Larteh Kubease Apagyahemaa under the stool name Nana Afua Amanorwaa I, at a grand ceremony at the Akuapem Larteh Kubease Palace in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Tradition was at its best as the first ever queen mother, adorned in a black cloth, amidst the playing of ”Fontonfrom” and other traditional drums after swearing an oath of allegiance to the
Akuapem Larteh Kubease Chief, Nana Otu Acheampong Agyemfra VI, at the Palace.

The Chief of Akuapem Larteh Kubease charged the first in history of Akuapem Larteh Kubease Apagyahemaa to, at all times, hold in high esteem the tradition and custom of the people and also listen to the advice of his elders.

In addition, it was expected to her to be humble, respectful, truthful, and honest in the discharge of her duties.

Nana Otu Acheampong reminded Nana Afua of the exemplary leadership qualities of her ancestors, saying she should emulate her ways to enable her to succeed in her endeavours.

He stressed the need for her to be a unifier and development-oriented to bolster the sustainable socio-economic growth of her people.

Nana Afua thanked the Chief of Akuapem Larteh Kubease for the honour done her and assured that she would be committed to the cause and welfare of her people and also abide by the oath she had sworn.
