The Eastern South Regional Police Command has successfully apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in the tragic murder of five people at Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro in the Nsawam-Adoagyire Municipal District of the Eastern Region.
The suspects, identified as: Samuel Atsu Forson alias Alanyo, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, Kwesi Prince and Benjamin Adzalekor were arrested from their respective hideouts, marking a significant breakthrough in the investigation.
Legal Proceedings
The suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Osino District Court on May 2, 2025. After hearing the case, the court remanded three of the suspects; Samuel Atsu Forson, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, and Kwesi Prince into prison custody, while Benjamin Adzalekor was remanded into police custody.
The suspects are scheduled to reappear before the court on May 8, 2025, for further proceedings.
Background of the Incident
It will be recalled that a shooting incident occurred on April 29, 2025, following a confrontation between two groups over sand winning activities in the Asiyaw.
The violent clash resulted in the loss of five lives, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting swift action from the police.
