The workers of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti Region have petitioned President John Mahama to remove the hospital’s Human Resource (HR) Director, Mr. Anthony Kofi Oduro, citing several allegations of misconduct.
Allegations Against the HR Director
The petition highlights several concerns about Mr. Oduro’s behavior, including:
Dishonesty and Lack of Trustworthiness: The workers claim that Mr. Oduro has consistently demonstrated dishonest behavior, making false promises, and misrepresenting facts, which has eroded trust within the HR Unit and the hospital at large.
Hostile Work Environment: The workers allege that Mr. Oduro’s behavior has created a hostile work environment for all staff in the hospital, which could have future implications, particularly given his role on the disciplinary committee.
Discrimination and Bias: The workers accuse Mr. Oduro of discriminatory practices and biases in his decision-making, unfairly targeting certain groups or individuals when it comes to staff promotion, confirmation, and other HR matters.
Disrespect Towards Employees: The workers claim that Mr. Oduro has consistently shown disrespect towards employees, which has contributed to a negative work environment.
Deceptive Practices: The workers allege that Mr. Oduro has engaged in deceptive practices, withholding information, and manipulating situations to his advantage.
Poor Communication: The workers claim that Mr. Oduro has failed to communicate effectively, leaving employees uninformed about important policies, procedures, and decisions, leading to confusion and frustration in the hospital.
Call for Removal
The workers are calling on President John Mahama to remove Mr. Oduro as the HR Director, citing the need for a more trustworthy and effective leader in the HR Unit.
The petition highlights the importance of maintaining a positive and productive work environment, and the workers believe that Mr. Oduro’s removal is necessary to achieve this goal.
