GES Head of Public Relations Cassandra Twum Ampofo Transferred To Eastern Regional Education Directorate

In a surprising move that reflects the unpredictability often associated with Mondays at the Ghana Education Service (GES) Headquarters, the institution’s long-serving Head of Public Relations, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, has been transferred to the Eastern Regional Education Directorate.

The announcement was made via her official Facebook account on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. According to Twum Ampofo, Mondays at GES have earned a reputation for sudden personnel reshuffles, with transfer letters typically arriving at the start of the week. This week was no different, as she received her own transfer notice in a moment that caught her off guard.

Narrating the experience, she recounted a visit from the Director-General’s Secretary—a rare occurrence that immediately raised suspicions. Her instincts were confirmed when the Secretary’s smile hinted at what was to come. Upon requesting her letter, it was revealed that she had been reassigned to the Eastern Region.

Cassandra Twum Ampofo’s departure from the national headquarters marks the end of a significant chapter in her career. As the face and voice of the GES for several years, she led the Public Relations Unit with distinction. Under her leadership, the unit recorded notable achievements in shaping public perception and communication strategies for the service.

In her farewell message, Twum Ampofo expressed pride in her contributions and gratitude for the opportunity to serve at the headquarters. She emphasized the lasting impact of her work and expressed optimism that the foundation she laid would continue to yield positive outcomes.

While she prepares to embrace her new role in the Eastern Region, many within the education sector are reflecting on her contributions at the national level. Her transfer, though sudden, opens a new chapter in her public service journey—one she appears ready to tackle with enthusiasm and renewed commitment.

The move raises questions about potential changes in GES’s public relations approach going forward and who will be named as her successor in the coming days.
