Ghana premier league giants Asante Kotoko have announced the appointment of former Black Stars coach Mariano Barreto as their new head coach.
The Porcupine Warriors took to Twitter to make the announcement on Friday 26 March 2021.

Barreto served as assistant coach at Russian sides Dynamo Moscow and Kuban Krasnodar.
Kotoko have been without a substantive coach since Maxwell Konadu was sacked in December 2020.
He led Ghana’s Under-23 side to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and also led the Black Stars team to beat South Africa 3-0 in Kumasi during the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
