The galamsey activity has claimed one life and left two others injured as galamsey pit caved in at Yaapesaa, a mining community in the Bosome-Freho district of the Ashanti region.

 

According to the report, Yaapesaa is a mining community where galamsey activities are highly rampant and the victims went to the site to find some money for their livelihood.

 

 

Again, the report indicated that, Labista who is twenty-nine(29) years of age,Paa Kwasi thirty-two(32) years old and Keebi who is also(33) years old went underground inside the pit to find some gold.

 

 

The report continued that, they got to the bottom-most part of the pit while digging and blasted the rock beneath it using dynamite and they couldn’t escape it impact putting them in danger.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, they got involved in an accident during the blasting and one Labista who is twenty-nine(29) years died and the two(2) others who are Keebi, thirty-three(33)and Paa Kwasi who is also thirty-two(32) years got injured and got admitted to the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital for treatment with the deceased also admitted at Kootwea mortuary.
