Atwima Mponua Primary: You Are A Goner; NPP Delegates Trust Me Merely – Commando Challenges Incumbent MP

There may be a potential shift in the Atwima Mponua constituency seat considering the overwhelming support that some political watchers and delegates have extended to Mr. John Ofori-Atta, also referred to as Comando, a well-known candidate in the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries.

During his vetting, Mr John Ofori-Atta, the chief executive officer of Mpasaatia Community Mining, was greeted with great enthusiasm by party delegates and supporters who traveled from a distance to the Party’s Regional office.

The residents in Atwima Mponua honor Commando for his significant development-related contributions, which include constructing educational buildings, covering student tuition, creating employment opportunities, etc.

Addressing the media after his approval by the vetting committee, John Ofori-Atta stated that the day of his vetting marked a significant milestone in his journey for a brighter future together with the people of Atwima Mponua, and with humility, he seeks to represent the hopes and aspirations of the constituency.

According to him, he has received assurances from multiple delegates that he will be allowed to lead the party in the 2024 election.

In order to establish the historic eight-year governing cycle, he pointed out that the delegates additionally believed he is the only candidate in the parliamentary primary with the potential to garner more votes for their presidential candidate.

He said the day marked a significant milestone in his journey for a brighter future together with the people of Atwima Mponua, and with humility, he seeks to represent the hopes and aspirations of the constituency.

In addition, he has promised the people of Atwima Mponua that if elected as the party’s parliamentary candidate and subsequently in the general elections of 2024, he will work tirelessly and honorably for the constituency.

He, therefore, reaffirmed his resolve to serve the constituency with a humble heart, unwavering dedication, and service with integrity.

In a fervent bid for political change, Mr. John Ofori-Atta said he has set his sights on unseating the long-standing representative, Isaac Kwame Asiamah.

According to him, the incumbent Member of Parliament, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, who has served the constituency since 2005, has failed to bring the requisite development to the constituency and has urged the constituents to vote for him to win the 2024 election.

“Kwame Asiamah is gone; he has expired and cannot be used anymore. My communities are saying that enough is enough; he should go and let Commando come’ he stated.

“I am winning on January 27th and am already in parliament to serve the good people of Atwima Mponuah,” he stated with assurance.

Mr. John Ofori-Atta was the Central Regional Security Coordinator and also a Presidential Staffer from 2001 to 2008, under former president John Agyekum Kufuor’s government.

He is also the chief executive officer of Mpasaatia Community Mining.

Some of the jubilant NPP supporters, including delegates, described John Ofori-Atta as the savior of the people and well-connected in the political domain.

 

 

 

Atwima Mponua Seat

Currently, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, a former minister of youth and sport, holds the Atwima Mponua Seat.

He has been a member of parliament for the constituency in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.

The vetting committee has given the green light to all four (4) candidates, including the sitting Member of Parliament, to run in the upcoming primaries. Additionally, this is the first time that the constituency would host a battle for the NPP parliamentary primary.

This is a result of the current MP never facing opposition.

It has been prophesied by certain political analysts and NPP delegates in the aforementioned seat that Mr. John Ofori-Atta would prevail at all costs.
