Mr George Twum-Barimah-Adu who has expressed interest to lead Ghana as president and hoping to contest the 2024 election as an independent presidential candidate has described his emergence as Godsend to help break the duopoly of  the two main political parties in Ghana; the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Twum-Barima Adu said he has put in place several mechanisms and holds the best of policies that would ensure that he wins the December 7, 2024 polls hands down.

Choosing “Breaking the Two” as his slogan, he intends to upend the NPP and NDC’s duopoly.

Addressing the leadership of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in Accra, the vibrant Presidential aspirant said he would transform Ghana for the best when offered the opportunity to govern.

He believes that the best way to solve the issues facing the country is to elect a visionary leader who is unrestricted by any political party, movement, or force.

He adds that a country is developed by all of its citizens, not just a select few, and that the economy is too vital to be left in the hands of politicians.

Mr Twum-Barima Adu also stated that inclusive governance is necessary so that Ghana can create an economy and a society that benefit all Ghanaians.

In addressing issues on pension, housing and welfare, the Presidential aspirant emphasized the significance of his ‘E-Sika’ initiative, saying it would be the ultimate game changer to replace the controversial e-Levy.

The ‘E-Sika’ policy, he said, would be a scheme specifically to address the housing needs of the country, aimed at ensuring that every Ghanaian owns a house.

The scheme will be a savings, which one could use the housing component to either make a down payment towards purchasing a house or to secure a mortgage towards a house.

Mr George Twum-Barimah-Adu stressed the need for further dialogue between political office seekers and labour unions to build a stronger framework which addresses not only personal welfare but also a platform for robust business operations for the transformation we want for this country.
