CLOGSAG Calls Off Strike, Members To Resume Work On Monday

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike following a Memorandum of understanding between the Union and the Government.

 

 

A statement signed by Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG on Thursday January 20 said “The National Executive Council (NEC) of Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) at its meeting held on Thursday 20th January 2022 had reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government and CLOGSAG.

 

 

 

 

“The National Exvceuitve Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG has therefore decided to call off the strike. All members should organise themselves and resume work on Monday January 24.”

 

 

 

 

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) had earlier said in a statement on Thursday January 20 that the Government had granted aspects of the demands by the CLOGSAG which resulted in their strike action,

 

 

The FWSC said “Yesterday government reached an agreement with the leadership of the Civil and Local Government Service Association Ghana (CLOGSAG) which culminated in the signing of an MoU.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The agreement granted some aspects of the demands concerning their conditions of service and others being worked in progress,”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CLOGSAG started their strike today Thursday, January 20, 2022, across the country to demand better conditions of Service.

The Association said over a year after their proposed salary structure was sent to the Finance Ministry to deal with it, they are yet to communicate anything to them despite persistent reminders.
