Three hundred and twenty-two (322) Doctors of Pharmacy are demanding the immediate payment of their one-year allowances from the Ministry of Health.

They have threatened to commence legal action against the Ministry if they are not paid in the next 30 days.

The lawyers of the doctors in a letter to the MoH dated August 21 noted that the doctors were engaged by the Pharmacy Council acting for and on behalf of the MoH from July 2023 to July 2024.

“We are informed by our clients that all through the period of their engagement, they were not paid any allowances contrary to the settles practice.”

“We have in the circumstances been instructed by our clients to respectfully demand the immediate payment of all allowances due our clients in full.”

“Please take note that unless we hear favourably from you in any event at a date not less than 30 days from the date of receipt of this letter, we have our clients’ instructions to commence legal action against you,” they stated.
