Academic work at the Dodo Fie D/A J.H.S. in the Kedjebi District of the Oti Region is pathetic.
The school was closed down in 2008 due to low performance of it 15 candidates who represent in the BECE Exams. As a result, enrollment has been low that led the closure of the school.
After the incident, some parents have moved their wards to the nearest community to feather their education, while their original structure has been abandoned, with vampire bats taking over the whole structure.
Authorities from the then Volta and the current Oti Region and District officers have not visit the school to assess the situation, nothing has been done to address it while rotting in the bush.
The well structured classroom block would have been useful in providing quality education to the people of Dodo Fie including other functions. However all these can not be actualized following the abandonment of the block.
Traditional authorities are worried about the development in the school since it impedes the education pupil in the community.
The 3unit classroom block containing two staff common room and office of the head teacher was captured with cracks, drops of vampire bats, broken office chairs, rotting text books, rotting plywoods and other damages.
Meanwhile, the primary also lacks furniture and teachers including teaching and learning materials.
Efforts to talk to authorities under whose tenure and jurisdiction the school falls was unsuccessful.
