EC Dismisses Claims Of Possible Creation Of 25 New Constituencies

Spread the love

The Electoral Commission (EC) has dismissed claims of creating 25 new constituencies ahead of the 2024 election.

This follows reports that the Commission has commenced procedures for establishing 25 new constituencies.

The Commission in a release dated October 31, and signed by the Acting Head of Public Affairs, Micheal Boadu indicated that it is only creating one constituency thus the Guan constituency.

They, therefore, urged that the general public disregard this statement of the creation of the 25 new constituencies.

“The Commission wishes to state for the information of the General Public that it is only creating One Constituency, which is the Guan Constituency in the Oti Region.

“The Commission has not taken any decision on creating constituencies beyond that of the Guan,” the statement clarified.
