Ghana defeated Ethiopia 2-1 on Sunday to secure qualification to the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Costa Rica.

After a three-nil first-leg victory at Addis Ababa’s Abebe Bikila Stadium, the Black Princesses sealed a 5-1 aggregate victory.

Salamtu Abdulai scored twice to make it four goals against the same opponent in the two-leg tie.

Her first came in the second minute, producing a great finish.

After 25 minutes, Abdulai slotted a low shot past the Ethiopia goalkeeper from inside the box after being put through by Cecilia Nyama.

The Ethiopians pulled one back just before the half-hour mark.

They also had two goals disallowed for offside.

The Black Princesses will compete in this year’s tournament in Costa Rica alongside 15 other countries.

The tournament will take place in two cities, San José and Alajuela, from August 10 to August 28.
