Ghana’s Elections: Akufo-Addo Declared Winner

Ghana incumbent President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo won with 6,730,413 votes representing 51.56% percent of total ballots cast in the West African state’s election, the head of the Electoral Commission announced.

His closest contender, National Democratic Congress which was also the largest opposition party led by John Dramani Mahama polled 6,214,889 of the total Votes cast representing 47.36%.

 

“Based on the results, I declare President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo president elect,” Mrs Jean Mensah told a news
conference on Sunday in the capital Accra.
