MP Commissions 3 Ultra-Modern Projects To Foster Development In Akim Oda

On Monday, July 17th, 2023, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, who is the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency in the Eastern Region, commissioned and handed over three (3) modern projects aimed at promoting growth and development in the education sector in the area.

The commissioned projects include an ultra-modern six-unit classroom with an office and desks for Presby A and C School, a modern ten-seater water closet sanitation toilet for the Presby Cluster of Schools, and an ICT Laboratory for St. Luke Roman Catholic School, all located in Akyem Oda Newtown.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by notable individuals such as Hon. Nana Yaw Osarfo-Marfo, the senior presidential adviser; Hon. Victoria Adu, the Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipal Assembly; various NPP executives from the constituency; and local Chiefs, among others.

Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah emphasized that these projects were not just for show but were aimed at improving the quality of education and providing students with a conducive learning environment.

Furthermore, the MP highlighted the importance of transparency in the development process, stating that projects should be accessible to the public and their progress should be regularly updated.

“It should be selfless service to mankind, the provision of requisite infrastructure, and the creation of an enabling environment for rapid development and industrialization’, he told the Daily Searchlight Newspaper’s regional correspondent.

He emphasized the significance of education in the area’s development and pledged to continue prioritizing educational projects to improve the future prospects of the constituency.

According to him, in less than 3 years since he was elected as the MP for Akyem Oda, his office has seen a high level of development in the education sector in the constituency.

He, therefore, called on other stakeholders to join hands in supporting the construction of the abandoned three-story classroom block at Presby A and C schools.

He added that the government is dedicated to creating an enabling environment for rapid development and industrialization, ensuring that all sectors of the economy thrive.

Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah acknowledged that challenges still exist and that addressing them requires time and effort. However, he assured the public that the government is committed to resolving these issues for the betterment of all citizens.

In conclusion, the legislator named the ultra modern six unit classroom block and the ICT Laboratory project after the senior presidential adviser, Hon. Nana Yaw Osarfo-Marfo, in order to express gratitude to him for his support and contributions to the development of the constituency.

The senior presidential adviser, Hon. Nana Yaw Osafo-Marfo, was grateful to see the completion and handing over of the projects. He extended his gratitude to the financiers of the projects and the MP for naming the 6-Unit classroom block and the ICT lab after him.

 

 

He also praised the MP for Akim Oda constituency for his generosity, acknowledging him for his humility and hard work, which were transforming the local economy.

Also, the MCE for Birim Central Municipal Assembly, Hon. Victoria Adu, thanked the MP, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, for his quick response to developmental projects ever since he was elected into office.

The Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Esther Quaye Sowah, outlined the difficulties they faced after the building was brought down by the rainstorm and thanked the leaders of the municipality for their positive effort towards education.
