The former Birim Central Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) Coordinator, Dennis Obeng Agyei, popularly called ‘Densa’, bowed to excessive pressure from the constituents, who made numerous calls on some prominent people to compel him to contest to become the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Akyem Oda Constituency.

Out of respect, which is the hallmark of Mr. Dennis, he heeded the calls of the constituents and decided to enter the race to become the parliamentary candidate for the Akyem Oda Constituency in the Eastern Region in the 2024 elections.

The constituents were extremely elated when word went around that Mr. Dennis had finally decided to be in the contest.

On Sunday, December 24, 2023, he formally submitted the nomination documents at the constituency party office in Akim Oda and is awaiting vetting.

The affable young man, who is part and parcel of Akim Oda, has been instrumental in making the NPP a force to reckon with in the area, which has endeared him to the rank and file of the party and its constituents.

He is seen by the constituency executives and the people of the area as someone who knows the problems of the area and has the right contacts to help develop the area.

The former Assembly Member of Oda Nkwanta Electoral Area in the Birim Central Municipality always avails himself to the people, participates in the activities of the area, and is always ready to listen to the problems of the people and to fashion out solutions.

He confidently asserts that he will secure a 90% victory in the parliamentary primaries.

Although this is his first time contesting for the position, he remains determined to secure the NPP’s ticket for the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Dennis has outlined a focus on talent and youth development as part of his campaign strategy to tap into the potential of the youth in the constituency.

He firmly believes that a new leader is needed to reshape the course of the constituency for the collective benefit of its residents.
