National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer aspirant, Kojo Bonsu says he will not pull out from the NDC presidential contest despite stiff competition.
His resolve to contest in the imminent presidential primaries stems from a strong conviction of coming out victorious in the elections.
The former mayor of Kumasi declared his intentions to run in the party’s Presidential primaries in 2018 ahead of the 2020 general election but pulled out.
In an an interview with Obuoba Ofori Amanfo on Ahenkan FM’s Maakye political show monitored by MyGhanaMedia.com, Mr. Kojo Bonsu revealed that his abrupt withdrawal from the last NDC presidential primaries was informed by former President John Agyekum Kuffour.
“He advised me to stay away from the contest and allow John Mahama to run because he has been fully marked. He also told me that this is not my time and soon my time will come so you listened to him and pulled out of the race.” Mr. Bonsu noted.
He continued that; “The last time, I didn’t go further like this coming all the way to pick up nomination forms, filing and vetted. Do I have to drop? No way, but my chances are very bright. I know what I am doing. It’s all about how you are able to do your things and how you are organized”.
Kojo Bonsu will face off John D. Mahama and Dr Kwabena Duffour in the upcoming National Democratic Congress presidential race.
