The minority leader Haruna Iddrisu has reaffirmed his party’s position of rejecting the declaration of Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo as the winner of the 2020 general election held on December 7 of which they think is flawed.
He said this in his opening remarks of the continuation of the sitting of the Fourth session of the seventh parliament.
According to the leader of the opposition party in Parliament, some unfortunate incident happened during the just ended general election which resulted in lost of lives in places like Techiman South.
He said, his party including him went to Techiman South to accertain the cause of deaths and why a seat they won was swapped.
Mr Haruna indicated that, upon visiting the district Electoral officer to see for themselves the collated results, the EC officer couldn’t produce evidence of the result he used to declared the NPP candidate the winner at the end of polls.
The minority spokesperson on Foreign Affairs Committee and a Member of parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Okudzato Ablakwa in an interview with the parliamentary press corps has revealed that NDC will formed majority in the 8th parliament because he believed that NDC have won more parliamentary seats including Techiman south and Sene west during the 2020 polls.
He stated that they going to appoints the next speaker of parliament and committee’s chairman.
Hon. Ablakwa added that the minority caucus in parliament are mourning the death of democratic governance, they were seen in all -black attire which consider as indications of observing the death of democracy in Ghana.
According to him the call for the mourning came as result of the intricacies that took place during the 2020 polls .
Meanwhile, the majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu refuted the claims by his colleague the minority leader that a political party that claimed to have won Election doesn’t have pink sheets and is now going round looking for copies.
