More than sixty youth from the Bawku West District in the Upper East Region have been sensitized on the activities of violent extremists, the signals and how to prevent the heinous acts from penetrating into Ghana. The District Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Alengah Muniru charged the youth to be ambassadors of peace in the District.

He reiterated the need for religious and opinion leaders to include the youth fully in joint community projects. This he said is geared towards the ultimate goal of creating togetherness in the District.

Mr. Alengah noted that the border towns had already made the Bawku West District vulnerable and the activities of Islamic militant in Burkina Faso has worsened their plight, hence the need for all to be vigilant.
