Desmond Abrefah To Ghanaians: Support My Independent Candidature To Break The NPP, NDC Duopoly

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition Nation Democratic Congress (NDC) supremacy in Ghana’s politics is likely to hit hard in the 2024 general elections as Independent Presidential Candidate Desmond Kwame Abrefah is poised to break the NPP and NDC duopoly with his “Save the Nation Movement”.

He explained that he was running as an independent candidate because political parties had not been “truthful and trustworthy” to the citizenry over the years.

He says his decision to contest the 2024 presidential election as an independent candidate will help to change the political status quo by moving Ghana beyond the duopoly of the two main political parties in Ghana, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Independent Presidential Candidate in the 2024 General Election, Desmond Kwame Abrefa, has pointed the finger at successive governments for Ghana’s predicament, where we find ourselves at the moment.

Speaking in an interview at his office at Ayi-Mensah in Accra, Mr. Desmond Abrefah disclosed his intention to contest the 2024 presidential elections as an independent candidate was a call from the Almighty God to eliminate the country from its current bad state.

According to him, our leaders have failed to lay down proper structures for the youth, who are future leaders, to use as a catalyst to thrive and turn the fortunes of our beloved country, Ghana.

He carefully studied and realized that the challenges facing young people who want to participate in our political realm have been ones of courage, knowledge, funding, and support.

He gained momentum by urging the youth to unite behind him as the country’s future president, with the goal of using Ghana’s natural resources for the benefit of everybody.

“We need to add value to our resources and also export excesses for foreign exchange. These will mitigate the economic hardship on the youth, parents, and the physical challenge (disabilities)”, he stated.

According to him, our current public political system has demoralized a lot of individuals because of tribalism, nepotism, and—worst of all—the mismanagement and corruption of our resources.

He opined that the 24-hour economy policy of former President John Mahama is a good course, but there is more to it than what is being presented to Ghanaians. Adding to that, Ghana doesn’t have the requisite willpower to run the 24-hour economy policy because the previous government collapsed Ghana’s own industries.

He added that it is time to break the duopoly of both the NPP and the NDC in the Fourth Republic, and he, Desmond Kwame Abrefa, is the right candidate to lead the youth of this country to break the jinx.
