It’s Time To Rally Behind Orphan Constituency’s Parliamentary Candidates – Northern NPP Youth Tells Party Executives

Spread the love

A group identified as the Northern NPP Concerned Youth urged the national and regional leadership of the ruling party to support the parliamentary candidates in orphan constituencies.

The leadership of the concerned group, which is based in the Northern Region, says that they have observed with great interest what the Orphan Constituencies are going through and maintains that these issues require immediate attention in order to address concerns that are very important to the people in these Constituencies

In a statement, a copy obtained by MyGhanaMedia.com says, “Realistically, resource mobilization is paramount to aiding the orphan constituencies to organize their campaign activities on time and to hit the ground running. They need financial support, which must be made available to them to start the individual campaign activities as soon as possible. In addition, the financial resources once made available and on time will help steer the affairs of the plans and policies the parliamentary candidates have, and this will also help in the mobilization of human resources, i.e., the devoted and loyal patriots who are poised to champion the collaborative agenda of winning some of these orphan constituency seats.”.

TIME TO RALLY BEHIND THE PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES IN THE ORPHAN CONSTITUENCIES IN THE NORTHERN REGION. ~NORTHERN NPP CONCERNED YOUTH GROUP CALLS ON THE LEADERSHIP OF NPP.

The leadership of the Northern NPP Concerned Youth group based in the Northern Region of Ghana calls on the leadership of NPP from the National to Regional level to rally behind the Parliamentary candidates of the Party in the Orphan Constituencies in the Region.

A concerned group based in the Region with members across the length and breadth of the Northern Region.

We have observed with utmost interest what the Orphan Constituencies are going through which deserves speedy attention to resolve matters of great concern to constituents in these Constituencies.

Indeed, the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections require maximum preparation and the zeal to double up our plans toward the agenda of breaking the 8-year political cycle in Ghana.

Fortunately, winning more seats will pave the way for this laudable agenda to come to fruition which every patriot of the Party is yearning to be part of this history in the making.

We have observed and listened to varied views and information from the Constituencies within the Northern Region with challenges, and progress of the Party in the Region which is our topmost priority as a vibrant group of people.

There is no denying the fact that NPP shared the same number of seats with the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC irrespective of NDC’s dominance in terms of popular votes in the Region.

However, as a formidable group with members dotted across the 18 Constituencies in the Northern Region, we have stood for the success and progress of NPP as part of our major objectives to contribute our quota towards shaping our political oration internally.

Notably, we script this release to respectfully call on the leadership of NPP from the National to Regional level to support and rally behind the Parliamentary candidates in our Orphan Constituencies to vigorously work to win some of these seats.

Realistically, resource mobilization is paramount to aid the orphan Constituencies to organize their campaign activities on time and to hit the ground running. They need financial support which must be made available to them to start the individual campaign activities as soon as possible.

In addition, the financial resources once made available and on time will help steer the affairs of the plans and policies the Parliamentary candidates have and this will also help in the mobilization of human resources i.e the devoted and loyal patriots who are poised to champion the collaborative agenda of winning some of these Orphan constituency seats.

Furthermore, we entreat the leadership of the Party from the National to Regional level to earnestly collaborate with the various Parliamentary candidates to have first-hand information on the challenges and difficulties they face to tackle them head-on without negligence.

Unfortunately, we have heard some issues raised in the public domain by party folks with the belief that the NPP cannot win some of these Orphan Constituencies. But we want to remind them of two Constituencies now in the hands of NPP i.e. Mion and Karaga Constituencies.

In a strict sense, the above-listed two Constituencies were marked red implying the party couldn’t have won these seats but it came to fruition with the determination of the candidates then and the support from the grassroots and party hierarchy.

These should be the guiding principle for the party never to underestimate our full desire to perform magic by winning more seats from the other nine orphan Constituencies in the Northern Region. The dynamics of our politics especially in the Northern Region have changed drastically.

A vibrant group with the youth interest as our priority we equally believe in bringing what we notice as a good pedestal or ladder for the progress of the Party with the youth at strategic and pivotal positions with the requisite skills and knowledge.

We equally know that plans are far advanced about the organization of this year’s presidential and Parliamentary elections but we appealing to the leadership to take stringent steps to aid our Parliamentary candidates working day and night to win the seats.

Therefore, the leadership of the Northern NPP Concerned Youth group wishes to remind and call on the astounding leadership from the National to Regional level not to overly focus more on Constituencies where we already have MPs but also with priorities set right to rally behind the hard-working Parliamentary candidates from the orphan Constituencies in the Region.

Interestingly, some of the parliamentary candidates from the three orphan Constituencies have hit the grounds running by engaging their constituents from some of the electoral areas or communities within their jurisdictions, and with the needed support and push will help ignite and rekindle the spirit of dedicated folks to work harder.

We appeal to the National Chairman, General Secretary, National Organizer, Youth Organizer, and other distinguished members from the national set-up to organize frequent orientation and capacity building for the Parliamentary candidates in the Orphan Constituencies on how to manage and deliver on their campaign strategies adopted which are in consonant with the national agenda of the Party, NPP.

Accordingly, we also with this clarion call appeal to the Regional Chairman, Regional Secretary, Regional Organizer, Regional Youth Organizer, and the workaholic Executives to collaborate and intensify their engagement with the Parliamentary candidates, Constituents, and other relevant key stakeholders from various orphan Constituencies with a wider plan on how to capture some of these seats.

As part of our group’s objectives, we are battle-ready to campaign vigorously for the party in all 18 Constituencies across the Northern Region with the desire to support and avail ourselves mainly to intensify door-to-door campaigns with our Parliamentary candidates and constituents for victory ahead.

Specifically, the Orphan Constituencies in the Northern Region are Tamale Central, Tamale South, Tamale North, Sagnarigu Constituency, Kpandai Constituency, Wulensi Constituency, Kumbungu Constituency, Savelugu Constituency and Saboba Constituency respectively.

With the above-mentioned Constituencies, we believe that maximum support will yield the desired results for the party with the ultimate goal of having majority seats in the Northern Region. Our leadership should never renege on their continual support but we need more to help the Orphan Constituencies.

In conclusion, we on behalf of the entire membership appeal to our leadership from the National to Regional level to wholeheartedly mobilize, and fast-track constant engagement with the Parliamentary candidates to keep them on their toes for victory going forward.

We hope our call will get the needed attention for the collective good of our Party in the Northern Region.

Thank you.

Long live NPP and Northern Region!

Signed

The leadership of Northern NPP Concerned Youth Group.
