Mahama Terminates Appointment of Rev Daniel Tetteh As Director-General of SEC; Avedzi Takes Over

President John Dramani Mahama has relieved Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh of his duties as Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The directive was communicated through an official letter signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama.

Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh has been directed to hand over his responsibilities to Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who has been appointed as Acting Director-General of the SEC.

While the letter did not provide specific reasons for the termination, the Commission is expected to maintain stability in Ghana’s capital markets during the leadership transition under Dr. Avedzi’s stewardship.
