Payment Through Mobile Money (momo) Is A Big Cheat – Cocoa Farmers To Government

Ghana National Cocoa Farmers Association(GNACOFA) have shared their thoughts concerning payment monies after selling their Cocoa.

 

Over Five Hundred Thousand (500,000) Cocoa Farmers team up to form (GNACOFA).

 

 

 

According to them, payment through an electronic means like Mobile Money (momo) is a cheat and a way government want to implement the e- levy on them.
Addressing the media during their 2022 1ST Quarter Society’s Meeting at Kumasi Cultural Center, they noted that, in the past years, payments were always done by physical cash and not through electronic transition means.

 

 

 

They added “tax is always deducted from our monies and finds it difficult to ran things, if mandate will be given to us, then the fertilizers given to us should be stopped and the monies should be given to us to buy the type of fertilizers we prefer.”

 

 

 

 

 

The further explained that the cocoa income is nit as it was, they find it difficult and hard to do management in everything.
