Former Minister of the Interior and Member of Parliament for Nandom Constituency, Ambrose Dery, has disclosed that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the defunct DKM Microfinance, Martin Delle, is a registered member of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
He disclosed that his membership predated 2016, adding that he is still a member of the party in good standing.
“He is a Ghanaian and has the right to vote. He is a member of the NPP in the Nandom constituency even before 2016 and continues to be a member now,” he disclosed.
Last week, there was a social media uproar when Martin Delle was spotted in a picture presenting a smock to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as part of his tour of the Upper East Region.
In defence, the Minister of State at the Presidency, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nandm, denied the linkage of the DKM boss to the flagbearer’s campaign as was speculated.
He, however, insisted that he is a member of the NPP which he indicated was never in doubt.
“He is a member of the royal family and was presenting that smock on behalf of the chief who had asked that it be given in the presence of all of us and I want people to stop this whole business. He is not part of Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team but he is a member of the NPP,” he stressed.
