A/R: Residents Of Danso Threaten Demo Against NPP’s Chairman And Their Chief Over Galamsey.

Residents of DANSO in the Bosome freho district of the Ashanti region have threatened massive demonstration to demand answers from their Chief Nana Opoku Kyei II on why he’s silent on Galamsey operations in the community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to the aggrieved residents, Galamsey has degraded all their Farm lands and the forest reserve in the community but the chief has remained silent.

 

 

 

The Angry residents led by Opanin Kyei who was the Nifahene of DANSO Traditional council but due to his efforts to clamp down Galamsey activities forfeited his throne in an Interview with Kingdom news said, the chief has on numerous occasions turned down the community’s request to know his side of the Galamsey operations.

It will be recounted that, President Akuffo Addo in his First 2years in office in 2016 Set up a strong force including the media and the military to Clamp down the illegal mining activities in the country but as it stands, this effort has proofed futile.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The leadership of the community According to them suspect that, the Chief has connived with NPP CHAIRMAN in the District Mr Attakora Amaniampong and they are destroying the Water bodies and vegetation despite President’s effort to fight the menace.

They therefore entreat the general public that, if nothing is heard from the Chief, demonstration will be the next step..
