A House Divided Cannot Stand – ENS Cautions NPP

A political group calling itself in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), known as “Team ENS for President 2024”, recently advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the importance of unity and cohesion in achieving their goals of Breaking the eight (8) in the impending 2024 general elections.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) which is one of the largest political parties in Ghana has been in power since 2017. However, in the view of Team ENS for President 2024 , the party is battling with internal conflicts, which have threatened its unity and cohesion as far as its Presidential Primaries is concerned.

In a statement released by the group and sighted by MyGhanaMedia.com, it further added that, these conflicts have been fueled by personal interests and ambitions, which have overshadowed the party’s collective goals.

They also emphasized the need for the party to put aside their personal interests and come work together to achieve their common goals. Team ENS for President 2024, therefore, urged the leadership of the party to ensure that all members are treated fairly and with respect, regardless of their status, tribe, level of Education or wealth within the party.

According to them, the NPP needs to eschews their personal interests, tribalistic interpretations and work together to achieve their common goals. Unity and cohesion are essential in politics, and political parties must ensure that they promises made by their parties are delivered.

According to the group, the importance of unity and cohesion in politics cannot be overemphasized hence the urgent need for political parties to work together to achieve their common goals, which are usually centered around the winning of general elections in the country. The group further called on all and sundry within the NPP to as a matter of fact to preach peace and unity with the ultimate goal of building peace and harmony amongst party members.

They added that unity, election 2024 is a done deal for the New Patriotic Party.

Team ENS for President 2024 has taken notice of the use of intemperate language, distortion of history, factual inaccuracies, the manipulation of ethnic and religious diversity, etc,etc, among supporters of some New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential aspirants”

Team ENS for President has also taken notice of the rush by senior offers of the party, particularly sitting Members of Parliament (MPs), to endorse one Candidate. This is a recipe for generating unnecessary tension, disunity, infighting, backbiting and cracks withing a party that needs nothing but unity as it prepares itself to Break the Eight.

Team ENS for President 2024 wishes to call for unity among the rank and file and to ask supporters to stay on the path of decent languages, progressive debates, critical thinking, positive history abd factual accuracies. We also call on all to desist from manipulating ethnic and religious diversity for selfish purpose.

Team ENS for President 2024 is calling on all senior officials of the NPP to desist from openly supporting any of the presidential aspirants of the party and to refrain from speaking on the media about their choices. The category of senior party officials who must refrain from endorsing aspirants are following; Constituency Chairman, Regional Executives. Members of Parliament (MPs), Regional representatives to the National Council, Council of Elders, National Officials, former National Officers, the President and the former President. This will go a long way to prepare the grounds for the much needed unity required for the historic victory that awaits the NPP on 7th December 2024.

As we in Team ENS for President 2024 have always maintained, Breaking the Eight is within reach. The NPP already has one leg at Juiblee in Januray 2025. Hard work is what is needed in the months ahead to make this fully realizable. Nothing must be spared to make this dream a reality.
