The Abuakwa North Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) has issued 4-day ultimatum to nomadic herdsmen who have invaded the municipality with over 10,000 cattle to vacate else faces brute expulsion as they declare their Municipality as no go area for nomadic herdsmen and their Cattle.
Even though the invasion of the herdsmen and their cattle are seasonal ,the number has doubled due to the ongoing clashes between farmers and herdsmen in Afram plains.
At a joint press conference held in Akyem Kukurantumi by MUSEC, Chiefs and farmers in the area, the MCE for Abuakwa North Alhaji Umar Bodinga who is also the MUSEC chairman said ,the municipality is no go area for Fulani nomadic herdsmen therefore will not entertain them to destroy crops of farmers.
He added that, many women farmers are afraid to go to farm for fear of being attacked and sexually harassed
He said armed police with support of community members will be mobilized to flush out the herdsmen if they fail to leave after the 4-day ultimatum.
Alhaji Bodinga stated that, the action is a proactive measure to prevent security challenges such as clashes between farmers and herdsmen over destruction of crops, rapes,and highway armed robbery that characterize areas where nomadic herdsmen operate with impunity.
Some leaders of the Kukurantumi farmers Association told Michael Akrofi that , the arrival of the cattle have led to destructions of crops of farmers .
The farmers say they are ready to partner the security agencies to flush out the herdsmen and their cattle
Representative of Akyem Kukurantumi Chief Dasebre Boamah Darko was, Nana Kwarkye Okyere, Sanaa hene of Akyem Kukurantumi denied the rumors that, the chief and his elders are responsible for the presence of the cattle on their Land as they accused of taking bribes from nomadic herdsmen.

Nana Kwarkye Okyere, Sanaa hene of Akyem Kukurantumi added that, the traditional council endorse the plans of the MUSEC to flash out the nomadic herdsmen and their Cattle.
