Deputy captain Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus have been left out of Ghana’s Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2025 Unity Cup, set to take place in London, England.
Arsenal midfielder Partey, who featured in Ghana’s most recent international matches, including scoring against Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, will miss the four-nation tournament, which kicks off just three days after the end of the English Premier League.
Kudus, who scored for West Ham on the final day of the Premier League season and remains a key figure for the Black Stars, has also been excused. Absentees also includes Antoine Semenyo, and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Five debutants have been included in the squad, among them Barcelona youngster Abdul Aziz Issah.
There are also some notable returnees, including Abdul Salis Samed, who has recovered from injury; Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku, who receives his first call-up since 2021and Felix Afena-Gyan, returning for the first time since 2022.
Captain Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Mohammed Salisu, and Benjamin Asare have all retained their spots from the previous call-up.
